The Digital Dilemma...
It's no secret that we hate digital music here at Prorawk, and the primary reasoning for that is because all of the bands we know and love are constantly being screwed over by all of these digital assholes (especially streaming) on a daily basis!
Streaming music is nice because it can be convenient on the go...
But at what cost we ask?
'The Cost' In a Nutshell...
As the drummer of your favorite local band is pawning off his/her drum kit in order to keep the lights on and pay the rent to avoid homelessness, the jagbag CEO of a streaming platform is listening to that very band though gold-plated earbuds while playing 18 holes of golf and being a complete dick to the caddy lugging around his clubs for the day...
Q: Whats the problem with that scenario folks?
A: THAT WHOLE SCENARIO IS THE PROBLEM DAMMIT!!
The Problem...
Realistically, we can't compete in the digital market- and a boycott against the digital capitalists just won't work.
Their greedy little hooks are in just way too deep at this point, and 'congrats' are in order, because that DigitalDoosher over there on the course just hit a hole-in-one.
In other words, Digital music is here to stay, and it's unfortunately here for the longrun...
But someone who isn't here for the longrun are those favorite bands of ours- those amazing bands who are slowly all being forced to pawn off their drum kits, guitars, and other gear all in order to simply put food on the table for their families- and/or essentially, just to more or less survive.
But why?!
Partly because nobody is buying the CDs and records that they busted their asses to make for YOU, FOR ME, FOR ALL OF US...
The world is simply just keying in their shit on the Spotifys of the world and rockin em out!
But it's all good, because there is a brightside to all this, and the brightside is that it ONLY takes 279 plays of a band's songs to earn them a WHOLE ONE DOLLAR!!
So.... WHAT IS THE PROBLEM WITH THAT?!
The Solution...
Because of that shitty deal, we felt it was only right to create the tip jar here to provide fans easy access to show their appreciation & supportthrow a tip at their favorite bands if they would like
